If you are like me and procrastination has become a way of life and is not just a minor character defect, then you may want to keep reading. (Or, put it off for another day, I'll understand.) Chalk it up to fear or just a case of general avoidance; either way procrastination has been my modus operandi since kindergarten. It's in-vogue to say "I do my best work under pressure, or when I'm on a tight deadline." While this is certainly true for some writers, in my case it boils down to good old fashion denial. Imagine if there was only a pleasant route to overcome the habit of procrastination and improve one's overall productivity at the same time?
Well folks there is, it's called the "Organized Cabo Retreat," (the brainchild of Organized Jane) which takes place here from April 4th to the 7th at the Bahia Beach Hotel which is situated on one of Cabo's most desirable beaches. This Garden of Eden is tucked away in a remote and tranquil region of downtown Cabo San Lucas. The urban boutique hotel stands out to us because it offers chic rooms, delicious dining options, and a vibrant beach house where the sessions of the retreat are held. To be sure, Organized Jane and Mary Poppins have the right idea: "A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down."
It should come as no surprise that the itinerary is both effective and alluring. You will spend three laser-focused days building "The Plan". During the retreat you'll learn how to increase your efficiency and growth rate through engaging workshops and lectures given by some of the most talented business owners and successful entrepreneurs from across the globe. Mornings will be for seminars and establishing a roadmap for what you aim to glean from the retreat. In the afternoons, hour-long sessions are offered for one-on-one time fully dedicated to achieving your specific business goals and objectives. Not to mention that you can write off 100% of this trip. But that's not all-- there will be plenty of time allocated for you to enjoy everything this fabulous hotel has to offer, from casual sunset strolls on the pristine shores outside the beach club or simply enjoying a relaxing and reinvigorating immune boosting, vitamin D sunbath poolside next to your room.
Trust me, Organized Jane is the real deal. When the vicissitudes of procrastination and clutter have you on the ropes, she's the one you can lean on for support and solutions. I've read the first of her two books -- Organizing for Your Lifestyle: Adaptable Inspirations from Socks to Suitcases (Editor's note: page 55 nails the benefits of consignment on the head). Her second book, Decluttering For Dummies, is on my current reading list. I highly recommend that you do yourself a favor and obtain a copy of either book in the event that your dance card is already full and will not allow you to attend the retreat. If you are attending the event, her first book is the perfect size for taking and reading on your flight to Cabo.
That said, I strongly suggest that you do yourself and/or a loved one a favor and make room in your schedule so you will not miss the "Organized Cabo Retreat". Very few things in life are more costly than regret. Furthermore, an experience like this pays dividends for a lifetime.
This verse from the Van Halen hit song "Right Now" tidies things up rather neatly: "One step ahead, one step behind, now you gotta run to get even. Make future plans or dream about yesterday; it's your tomorrow. Right now, it's everything. Catch a magic moment, do it right here and now. It means everything."
