Due to my prior experiences taking a trip to the dentist office ranked ever so slightly behind going to a job interview-- you know the dreaded one you've found yourself showing up to right out of college. The one when you're in dire need of any gig that gets you out of living in your parents basement and gives you a halfway decent shot at procuring a first date at a fancy restaurant with the object of your affection. By the same token, getting a root canal will not be found anywhere on my bucket list. So when a dear friend of mine here in San Jose del Cabo gave a glowing endorsement for Dr. Pedro Ortiz, my list of excuses for procrastination about this irrational fear suddenly got a lot shorter. Full disclosure folks, I'm slightly ashamed to admit that I was long overdue for a visit to the dentist chair. (Side note, if my mom perchance reads this, and there's no blogging from me on this site for a decent stretch, it's safe to assume that I'm grounded without phone and internet privileges) But as my dear mother is often fond of saying, it was time for me to grin and bear it.
Oh my God, first off, the bi-lingual staff at the Dental Studio are incredibly accommodating and first rate professionals. Due to a car accident that I was not involved in on the transpeninsular highway (shocker), I was 25 minutes late for my scheduled 3 pm appointment. Frazzled and fearing that I would have to reschedule my appointment after working up my gumption, I was delighted to find that there was more than ample free parking right in front of their place of business. The office is not only spotless but moreover efficiently operated. I literally didn't even have time to contemplate bolting, as within a minute and 37 seconds I was comfortably sitting in the dentist's chair ready or not to receive a thorough and well overdue teeth cleaning. I welcomed the fact that there was no rinsing and spitting due to the suction device placed in my mouth--did I mention that they are efficient? I was also pleased to discover that Dr. Ortiz provides off-hour emergency services practically 24/7. When It was all said and done, I was in and out of the office with a glowing smile on my slick and smooth pearly whites in under 45 minutes. When I went to pay the bill, I was astounded that it was right around $80.00 USD! As the old adage goes, you're never fully dressed without a smile, and that was precisely my attire and outlook as I strolled out of the Dental Studio. Please don't forget to mention to the staff that your friends at I.O. Domani can't wait to see your sunny smile after your visit there!
